This Cookie Policy explains how Earthy Critters uses cookies and similar browser technologies when you visit earthycritters.com.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small pieces of data stored by a web browser when a website is visited. They can be used to remember preferences, maintain website functionality, distinguish browsers or sessions, and measure how a website is used.
Websites and third-party services may also use similar technologies such as local storage.
Cookies used by Earthy Critters
Earthy Critters currently uses cookies for website functionality, cookie preference storage, and analytics.
The specific cookies present can vary depending on the browser, services in use, and changes made by third-party providers.
Necessary and preference cookies
Earthy Critters uses a cookie preference system provided by GDPR Cookie Compliance by Moove Agency.
The plugin may store a cookie named moove_gdpr_popup to remember the cookie preferences selected in the website interface. This prevents the cookie notice from being presented as though no choice had previously been made.
On Earthy Critters, the preference is currently configured to expire after approximately 365 days.
Google Analytics
Earthy Critters uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the website. Google Analytics can collect information such as session statistics, approximate geographic location, and browser and device characteristics.
Google Analytics uses a first-party cookie named _ga to store a pseudonymous client identifier and distinguish visitors and sessions. Google documents a default lifetime of two years for _ga and for GA4 cookies using the _ga_<container-id> format.
Cookies that may therefore appear include:
_ga— used to distinguish users; default duration: 2 years._ga_WGMMQ6YYJB— used to maintain session state for the Earthy Critters GA4 property; default duration: 2 years.
Google may change the cookies or technologies used by Google Analytics over time.
Yandex Metrica
Earthy Critters uses Yandex Metrica to analyse website traffic and visitor behaviour.
Yandex Metrica uses anonymous browser identifiers stored in cookies and local storage to distinguish users and analyse sessions, traffic sources, and interactions with website pages.
Cookies and browser-storage identifiers used by Yandex Metrica may include:
_ym_uid— identifies a browser for analytics purposes; typically stored for 1 year._ym_d— records the date of the visitor’s first session._ym_isad— used to determine whether an ad blocker is present; approximately 20 hours._ym_visorc_*— supports Session Replay functionality; approximately 30 minutes.yandexuid, yuidss, ymexand related Yandex identifiers — used for analytics and supporting functionality.
Yandex Metrica may also store analytics identifiers and session information in localStorage or sessionStorage.
Session Replay
Earthy Critters may use Yandex Metrica’s Session Replay functionality to understand how visitors navigate and interact with the website.
Session Replay is used for analysing website usability and behaviour rather than for intentionally collecting information entered into sensitive fields.
Current analytics configuration
Google Analytics and Yandex Metrica are currently part of Earthy Critters’ standard analytics configuration and may load when a visitor accesses the website.
We may change the way analytics consent and cookie preferences are technically implemented as the website develops, and this policy will be updated where necessary.
Managing cookies
Most browsers allow users to view, delete, or block cookies through their privacy or site-data settings.
Blocking or deleting cookies may affect how some website features or analytics services operate.
Earthy Critters also provides cookie preference controls through its cookie notice. These controls may be expanded or modified as the site’s privacy configuration develops.
Third-party services
Cookies and similar technologies provided by Google and Yandex are also subject to the privacy and data-processing practices of those companies.
Earthy Critters does not control future changes that third-party providers may make to cookie names, storage duration, or underlying technologies.
Changes to this Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy may be updated when Earthy Critters changes its analytics, advertising, website functionality, or other technologies that use cookies or browser storage.
The current version will be published on this page.
